Many people want to feel a deeper significance to life. They long to see peace restored in the world, the planet treated with love and care, and people treated equitably.
People today are strongly aware of the problems of the whole planet (global warming, destruction of the rain forests, overpopulation, lack of ecological sustainability, exploitation of people in poorer countries).
Nature is a reflection of mankind and is currently going through a toxicity and healing crisis.
The state of the earth reflects the collective consciousness of humans; composed of a mixture of values from survival to unconditional love.
The time has come to make a choice for promoting life rather than destruction. Love, rather than fear.
We believe this can best be achieved though the regular practice of meditation. We dedicate Matara as a meditation learning center.

I have been meditating for the last 35 years and find it the most powerful practice to archive inner peace and a sense of belonging in the world.
Without meditation I cannot imagine the Matara Center at Kingscote Park being such a tranquil and beautiful place. We have creating a meditation garden, and center that provides a haven away from the stresses of everyday life.
What is happening in the world
We are all experiencing a roller coaster ride as one era draws to a close and a new era emerges. People naturally resist change, at a time when we need to be open and responsive.
The process of change is likely to effect each one of us on an internal level. This will be difficult if we do not see the need for cleansing and healing of our own thoughts and feelings. Now is the time to drop the old patterns and move forward, free of the burden of old thoughts and feelings.
I believe meditation is a fast and enjoyable way of developing inner strength and flexibility, if we are going to avoid the feeling of our world being turned upside down.
Meditation is a practical way of slowing down, quieting the mind, and expanding horizons.
People who have meditated daily for 3 years experience their biological age reduced by 5 years.
I am pleased to invite you to learn meditation and attend meditation retreats at the Matara Center, in this inspiring place of tranquility and beauty.

The World Health Organization has defined health as‘a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being. This takes into account ones state of mind, how we think, perceive and conceptualize. These mental factors determine the attitudes we have about life, the way we deal with our physical and social surroundings and how we interact with others’. From this prospective we are all on a healing journey. |
